The customer's original electricity meter plan used a button type battery as a backup power supply for the RTC circuit, but maintenance was frequent and personnel needed to be arranged for on-site inspections from time to time. Based on the customer's needs, an upgrade plan was provided, using supercapacitors as backup power for the RTC, greatly reducing labor costs and achieving maintenance free operation
